StoryFest 2021

Join Lyn in one or both of these panel discussions at the sensational StoryFest 2021 that runs from Friday 18 June to Sunday 20 June.

Past Horrors, Grim Landscapes, with Lyn Yeowart, Nikki Gemmell & Jock Serong. Host: David Hunt.
Landscapes often reflect the brutality of the events that have unfolded upon them and the people who enacted those events. But can the reverse be true? How do landscapes unleash the brutality that lurks within us?
Saturday 19 June 10.00 am - 11.00 am

Sisters In Crime, with Lyn Yeowart, Cathy Jinks & Kellie Hawkins. Host: Suzanne Leal
Three very different crime writers and three very different crimes. Yet, all three novelists reveal how past trauma resurfaces and magnifies circumstances, twisting perceptions, and challenging our ability to be our own agents of change. Is this a uniquely female perspective or simply a reflection that motive and opportunity is far more nuanced than they may first appear.
Sunday 20 June 10.00 am - 11.00 am

Sisters in Crime: Toxic families

Families can be havens of love and affection, but they can also be crucibles of crime where abuse and resentment create an explosive mix. At the family core there are usually secrets – deep, dark secrets – as three new novels demonstrate: Nicola Moriarty’s You Need to Know, Erina Reddan’s The Serpent’s Skin and Lyn Yeowart’s The Silent Listener.
